Direct message the job poster from The ProjectThe Project has a rare opportunity for an experienced Head Writer to join our senior editorial team and lead our writing room in Melbourne.As Head Writer you will oversee the writers' team and be responsible for managing the development and generation of the show's scripts, gags and comedy social media content.You'll be responsible for ensuring our writer's room is engaged and creating material that is in keeping with the format philosophy and meets the high standard the show places on its comedy content.In this role you will:Oversee the quality of the comedy material and re-write and edit as required, alongside our Comedy Talent to ensure our comedy material is to the highest standardWrite comedy in a variety of tones and styles as directed by the Executive Producer and Supervising ProducersWork with the Comedy Talent regarding the content and tone of the show.Develop and provide creative ideas for the editorial content of the programAssist with the shooting, production (including on-camera performances), editing and direction of recorded segments written by you and/or othersYou will identify story ideas, suitable angles and potential talent.Work closely with Production, Post-Production and the Broadcast Producer to ensure all departments are aware of content expectations and/or changes developed by your team.Manage the day to day operations of the Writers' DepartmentAbout youWe're looking for an experienced Head Writer who has led writing teams and a strong track record of encouraging the ideas of others.
