Position Information Cumberland High School is a comprehensive high school with a population of 1130 students, located in Carlingford.
The school has a diverse cultural population including 73.9% non-English speaking background and 57 different languages.

Cumberland High School promotes excellence in learning and the provision of collaborative leadership that supports rich curriculum offerings with a strong emphasis on student leadership, academic, cultural, music and sporting excellence.
Cumberland High School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) high school that provides strong whole-school wellbeing initiatives for all students including students from a non-English speaking background, high potential learners, students with additional learning needs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Selection Criteria Demonstrated expert knowledge and understanding of the wide range of disciplines of the Social Sciences faculty and ability to lead and monitor educational programs across all Stages. Demonstrated capacity to lead a diverse team, build teacher capacity and establish high expectations in a new faculty. Demonstrated expertise in evaluative thinking and driving whole school initiatives that support effective implementation of the school's Strategic Improvement Plan and student growth and attainment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the school's Executive team to effectively manage change and build a culture of continuous improvement. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
