Position InformationSarah Redfern High School is a co-educational, comprehensive secondary school providing exceptional learning opportunities for all. Located in the suburb of Minto, the school serves a community in the south-west Sydney Campbelltown area that includes a wide range of families from diverse cultural and socio-economic groups. Our learning community is inclusive and made up of a diverse range of learners; including academically gifted students as well as students requiring learning support. In 2023 there were a total of 651 students enrolled at the school with 65% of these students being from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE), while a total of 65 students (10%) identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The school is located in an area with strong connections to the local Aboriginal community and the Dharawal people. The school strives to build strong relationships with Aboriginal students and their families as well as in the wider community. We foster high standards and have high expectations that every student will succeed in their learning.
Selection CriteriaKnowledge of school operations and compliance requirements with the capacity to contribute to whole school administration including timetabling.Demonstrated capacity to identify, gather and analyse internal and external data to inform, design and deliver targeted initiatives to improve achievement of all students.Highly developed understanding and ability to contribute to and implement the School Excellence Plan that leads to improved learning outcomes for students.Demonstrated leadership capacity to work as a member of the executive to drive school initiatives which support strategic directions and contribute to a culture of high expectations.General Selection CriteriaSuccessful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
