Full job description Position Information Airds High School is a co-educational high school, in the Campbelltown Network of South West Sydney, operating under the Connected Communities Strategy. The school is committed to personal and academic achievement offering a broad academic and vocational curriculum, thus catering for students of all ability levels. The school enrolment is 522 students including; 146 Aboriginal students, 94 EAL/D students and 68 students in the Support Unit. The Support Unit caters for students with a range of intellectual disabilities including Mild and Moderate Disability, Multi-Catergory and Autism. Airds High School is committed to continually improving effective classroom practice with staff professional learning being the key focus, ensuring both student Literacy and Numeracy levels are improved through data collection, analysis and its application to drive and underpin the use of quality teaching and learning. Selection Criteria Strong capacity to lead and support the implementation of curriculum reform by embedding evidence-based teaching strategies that enable students to develop high-quality literacy and numeracy skills to achieve positive learning outcomes. Proven ability to lead and manage a high-quality team, demonstrating the capacity to engage and motivate others to improve professional knowledge and practice. Demonstrated ability to lead evaluative practices and to use data to inform practice and to improve teaching and learning and student outcomes. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school processes and initiatives to support the school's strategic directions. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
