Position InformationMiller Technology High School is a comprehensive high school located in Sydney South West with an enrolment of approximately 806 students, with 85% of students from Language Backgrounds Other than English (LBOTE) and 10% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
A well-established Intensive English Centre is located onsite provides English instruction and cultural orientation for new arrivals, refugees and international students.
A Support Faculty provides high quality educational experiences for students with special learning needs.

The school has a low socio-economic status with a strong focus on quality teaching, literacy, numeracy, engagement and connected learning.
Our students have access to a broad curriculum with our Positive Behaviour for Learning core values of Respect, Inspire, Safe and Excel supporting an inclusive learning environment to aspire students to be the best they can possibly be.

Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.

In addition to the general selection criteria, highly developed problem solving and organisational skills to effectively manage the demands of whole school administration to facilitate the efficient daily operations of the school.

Demonstrated high level skills and expertise to build and implement a school timetable that is responsive to school curriculum and student needs.

Demonstrated high level interpersonal and personal skills to communicate and implement school policies, procedures and in the management of casual staff.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of the executive leadership team, supporting a cycle of continuous improvement aligned to the school's Strategic Directions.

General Selection Criteria 1.
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2.
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3.
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5.
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
