We are seeking a

Head of Zero Harm Australia

to lead our Transport & Infrastructure business at Downer.
The key purpose of this role is to provide strategic and operational leadership across our T&I business, enabling operational teams to thrive whilst performing work successfully and without harm to people, the communities, and environments in which they work.

Collaborating closely with the Executive General Manager and leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing comprehensive Zero Harm strategies across our Transport & Infrastructure business.
From identifying innovative approaches to leading the development of programs and initiatives, you'll drive efforts to embed a culture of safety throughout all operational functions in Transport & Infrastructure.

About you

10+ years of experience as a Health and Safety professional, working in high risk environments; with 5+ years experience in a senior leadership role.

Experience in identifying trends, developing and implementing Zero Harm Strategic priorities and plans.

Tertiary qualifications in business, Workplace Health & Safety, or related discipline.
Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety (or the desire to achieve in a short timeframe), knowledge of statutory provisions across relevant jurisdictions.

Lead Internal Auditor (or the desire to achieve in a short timeframe).

Approach change as a mentor/coach.

Experience leading audits and preparation of corrective actions and reports.

Preparation and delivery of Zero Harm Awareness or Training Programs.

High level of problem solving with the ability to professionally manage complex issues.

Ability to positively influence change and communicate effectively with multiple types of stakeholders.

Report writing, trending and analysis.
