Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training) Full time Applications are invited from experienced teachers to lead student well-being for students (Years 10 - 12). The position will commence at the beginning of 2025.
About Us Rouse Hill Anglican College (RHAC) is a well-regarded independent co-educational Christian school with over 1600 students from Pre-K to Year 12. The College is committed to a professional, collaborative and supportive workplace for all employees. Located in the Hills District in Sydney's northwest, the College has modern facilities, is very well resourced and can be easily accessed by car or the Metro Northwest rail.
Overview of the Role The Head of Years 10-12 is responsible for the leadership of student well-being (10-12). This involves the oversight of the respective Year Advisors and their Year teams. The Head of Years 10-12 supports and leads staff in the areas of student wellbeing, Child Safe practices, behaviour management and the implementation of relevant policies.
Preferred Candidates A Christian who:has a sound understanding of, and personal commitment to, the doctrines and teachings of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Sydneyis actively involved in a Christian churchis committed to personal prayer and Bible readingis able to create resources for devotions in pastoral care timeA qualified Senior School teacher with the equivalent of 5+ years full-time teaching experienceA leader who:is flexible and responsive to the needs of students and staffcan guide a team of Year Advisors and Assistant Year Advisors to support them in leading their respective teams of pastoral care teachershas experience developing and coordinating student wellbeing initiativesis skilled in directly managing challenging student behaviour and responding to student well-being needscan ensure that College policies related to student wellbeing are followed, as well as revise and improve the contents of those documentsis able to support and advise teachers in relation to the social, emotional, spiritual and behavioural needs of students in Years 10 to 12is capable of effectively working with parents in relation to identified well-being needs of their childrendemonstrates a commitment to developing a strong understanding of Child Safe Standards and how to effectively implement themunderstands the role of confidentiality in managing sensitive issuesCandidates who meet all, or a selection of, the criteria are welcome to apply.
Other Responsibilities Involvement in College activities and events including:
Contributing to the Student Welfare program, including extra-curricular activities and campsAttending Chapel, assemblies and other College activitiesUndertaking rostered playground or supervision dutiesAttending College events, including Parent-Teacher nightsThe Contract All teachers at RHAC are employed under the Independent Schools Standards Model Multi Enterprise Agreement (MEA). The MEA outlines teacher's salaries and their employment rights and responsibilities. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will have a teaching allocation (approximately 0.4) and will receive a Level 2 leadership allowance in addition to their base salary.
Child Safety The College actively promotes the safety and wellbeing of all students and requires all prospective staff to be suitable and committed to protecting students from abuse or harm in the school environment. The College implements the Child Safe Standards developed by the Office of the Children's Guardian. All College staff receive annual training in Child Protection.
