The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Head of Wellbeing. The Head of Wellbeing is a key member of the School Leadership Team and will be responsible to the Principal and Deputy Principal to ensure the review, development and implementation of:
School Wide Positive Behaviour Support programs and initiatives Student personal grooming and uniform Pastoral care of staff and structures Professional development opportunities for staff in related areas Key Responsibilities
As a member of the school's Leadership Team, the Head of Wellbeing performs an integral role in leading and enhancing all aspects of student and staff wellbeing.
They are responsible for delivering the school's wellbeing model and the wellbeing components of the school's strategic plan.
The Head of Wellbeing supports the Principal and Deputy Principal in the day-to-day running of the school, providing expert advice and consultancy around student wellbeing issues.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the delivery of St Gabriel's School's wellbeing model. Review and oversee the implementation of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework. Actively engage as a member of the school's restrictive practices panel. Contribute to the creation of a positive school ethos, aligning with the values of the school. Be an active member of the Leadership Teams to drive continuous improvement. Ensure the school is providing an integrated and evidence-based preventive approach to support the wellbeing of our students. Lead a strong wellbeing education program. Support the development and implementation of student transition programs. Liaise and consult with parents, staff and students concerning student wellbeing behavioural needs. Oversee the implementation of the Staff Wellbeing Plan. Develop a support network for parents, supporting the community of the school. Selection Criteria
Experienced in positive behaviour management and/or qualifications in behavioural management. Demonstrated positive leadership of staff and students. Sound understanding of working with and supporting students with disabilities across K-12. Demonstrated commitment to a holistic wellbeing approach that meets the needs of students. Experience in PBS. Experience in CPI training (or willingness to be trained). Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to maintain priorities whilst managing multiple projects. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff to learn, encouraging a culture of innovation, professionalism and collaboration. Exceptional collaboration and relationship management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Self-motivated, conscientious, reliable and enthusiastic. Ability to maintain confidentiality with school leadership. Demonstrated commitment to the Catholic and Edmund Rice ethos of the School. Qualifications or study in Special Education at postgraduate level. Possession of a valid Working with Children Check and a commitment to child safeguarding principles. How to Apply
