About the Opportunity
Based in either Osborne, South Australia, you will be reporting to the General Manager Operations Execution, the Head of Warehousing is accountable for the management of all ASC managed warehouses and the ASC logistics network. The role is responsible for effectively and efficiently executing plans to receive, store and issue materials for planned and unplanned maintenance activities for the Collins Class Submarines (CCSM), including the coordination and management of all Warehouse, Distribution & Tool store staff across South Australia and Western Australia. You will manage an inventory value in excess of $350 million.
The role provides leadership to the Warehousing teams in both states, which is approximately 60 FTE, ensuring team members are provided with direction and attainable yet challenging performance targets.
Responsibilities
Manage and operate the Warehouses in SA and WA, ensuring that Material control activities are achieved within allocated budgets
Manage the logistics and distribution of materials, including managing returns as required
Ensure internal and external relationships are built and maintained to support the CCSM Program delivery
Coordinate the delivery of materials to the CCSM Program teams to external and internal distribution points
Manage international freight for the CCSM Program, including customs clearance and export-controlled technology equipment
Development, management, and execution of Warehousing and Logistics Supply Chain frameworks
About You
Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management or related discipline
Extensive experience in Warehousing and Logistics management
Experience in establishing new Warehouse facilities, infrastructure and processes for Warehousing and Logistics
Direct relevant experience in related supply chain disciplines (including inventory management and procurement)
Sound understanding and demonstrated experience with Australian Department of Defence supply chain practices
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
