TEG Life Like Touring is looking for a Head of Wardrobe and Wigs for the upcoming Global Premiere Australian Tour of Gabby's Dollhouse Live!
Contract Position : Weekly Fee + Per Diems (when applicable), all accommodation and travel provided (when away from home base).
All candidates must be Melbourne-based and available for all rehearsal and national tour dates from 3rd February 2025 up to/around 29th April 2025.

The Role The Employee shall perform all services customarily rendered by the Head of Wardrobe and Wigs of a first-class musical stage play (of the same quality and calibre as a Broadway/West End musical).
Without limitation, the following employee duties shall include: Attendance at rehearsals and assistance with cast management as required.
Re-fitting, repairs, and maintenance as required of all show costumes for the cast, including Meet and Greet costumes if needed.
Assist with managing aspects of the production, including cast and crew backstage during performances; participating in set movement, prop movement, pre-setting costumes, wigs, and assisting with quick changes and puppetry as required.
Care for all costumes before, during, and after each performance, including Meet and Greet character costumes.
Care for all wigs before, during, and after each performance, including Meet and Greet character wigs.
Oversee the regular washing/cleaning of all show costumes, character heads and feet, and puppeteer costumes as specific to the show performance.
Oversee the regular setting, styling, and maintenance of all show wigs as specific to the show performance.
Oversee the regular washing of all cast underwear and inner-body stockings to maintain the condition and hygiene of such undergarments and costumes.
Oversee the regular maintenance and repairs of the show costumes, character heads, and all other show costumes on tour, as needed.
Ensure all costumes and wigs are transported, unpacked, set, and prepped with care to protect them from harm or getting soiled before, during, or after any performance.
Maintain communication between tour management, cast, and crew to ensure any costume-related issues or concerns are dealt with in a timely manner.
Personally report to Life Like Touring any issues that come to the attention of the Wardrobe Department that need further input.
Assist the local crew to learn the required show plots, including the creation of said plots if required.
Review OH&S assessment of each costume in the rehearsal room and plan for risk management in conjunction with the show Directors and Choreographer.
Adhere to Venue OH&S requirements to support the safety of Cast, Crew, and Audience in every circumstance in every venue.
Actively participate in matters and activities relating to OH&S, including compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
Assist the Company Stage Manager with cast/crew liaison at any performance in regard to relevant issues/incidents/accidents or near-misses arising before, during, or after the performance.
Other duties as directed.
Reporting of any show issues to management for inclusion in show reports.
Prepare weekly reports on the state and condition of the wardrobe and wig stock, noting trends, managing and reporting on the supply of consumables, and annotating any learnings for future reference.

Requirements Required Skills: Experience and knowledge of costume and dressing requirements for different theatrical plots.
Display a keen ability to multi-task and thrive in a busy environment.
Excellent hand sewing skills.
Previous experience using industrial and domestic sewing machines.
Demonstrated ability in a wide range of clothing construction techniques and alteration methods.
Demonstrated ability in wig styling, care, maintenance, and show operations with wigs.
Exhibit excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of "performance" etiquette, including comprehensive knowledge of theatre traditions, protocol, and terminology.
Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel and performers.
Ability to work under pressure, using tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
Ability to find creative solutions to challenges.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a license to operate a motor vehicle.
Candidates for this role must ensure that they are entitled to legally work in Australia, and proof of citizenship or eligibility may be requested.
Candidates must currently hold, or successfully submit to, a Working With Children check.
Please note: NB: Our Sydney office will re-open Monday 6 January 2025 and we anticipate commencing interviews once the team returns.
