The Opportunity Falls Creek Resort is seeking an experienced strategic leader to join our senior management team as the Head of Visitor Experience on a maternity leave cover basis, commencing by the beginning of February 2025.
As the Head of Visitor Experience, you will be responsible for driving awareness and demand for Falls Creek Resort's diverse offerings while ensuring a first-class visitor experience. Leading a customer-focused team, you will play a key role in boosting resort engagement, visitation, and overall growth.
The resort has two distinct seasons white (winter) and green (non-winter) which are reflected in the responsibilities of this role. During the busy white season, a hands-on presence is required to ensure visitors have an enjoyable experience whilst supporting members the Visitor Experience team. During the green season, there will be a focus on strategic planning whilst promoting and enabling a year-round tourism destination by facilitating a busy events calendar and activities, such as the popular MTB Enduro Tour and Festival Falls Creek Instagram/feastivalfallscreek

Key Accountabilities: Drive resort growth through innovative marketing, communication, and event strategies that deliver measurable tourism results. Lead the creation of new visitor experiences: to enhance and diversify year-round offerings, meeting current visitor expectations and attracting new markets. Oversee a customer-focused team: to ensure exceptional guest engagement and tourism experiences. Collaborate with resort stakeholders: to support ARV and resort objectives through a united approach. Develop and implement demand-driving marketing, communications, and event strategies. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in marketing, tourism or related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience (mandatory) 10 years+ experience in destination tourism or marketing and in leading/managing team(s) Qualification or training in IAP2 (highly regarded) Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field (desirable) Experienced in writing grant funding applications independently and with other organisations for dual/multi funding schemes. The successful candidate will be required to: Have full Australian working rights. Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee type) Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred) Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests. Location: Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Victoria
Contract Term: Start of February 2025 – End of November 2025
Salary Range: $117,718 – $128,897p/a plus superannuation
