An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic, innovative and experienced Head of VCE and Senior Students (Years 11 -12) to join the TKS team.
This is an ongoing teaching role with a two-year tenure as part of the Senior School Leadership Team, commencing Term 1, 2025.
Whilst not a necessary requirement of the role, teachers experienced in Maths, Chemistry, Physics or Commerce are strongly encouraged to apply. The Head of VCE and Senior Students (Years 11 -12) is responsible for the leadership of academic programs at VCE level in conjunction with the Head of Senior School and the Head of Learning, Teaching & Innovation.
The leadership of academic programs at the VCE stage includes the research and implementation of academic initiatives that align with The Knox School's Education Framework.
Additionally, the role has primary oversight and delegated responsibility for student belonging, non-academic programs, and pastoral care through the development and management of age and stage-specific wellbeing and pastoral programs, student monitoring, development and maintenance of the school-home relationship, and the coordination and management of the Academic Coaches.
The role is vital to the ongoing cultural development of the school, leading students, teachers and families through initiatives and programs that align with the school's strategic direction and the school's values of achievement, care and empathy, respect, resilience, and responsibility.
About the role: Encourage a culture of personal excellence in student academic performance.Develop a consistent strategy in supporting the academic and wellbeing journey of each student.Work with individual or small groups of students to provide mentoring and guidance on academic success and pathways.Lead the use of data to inform practice and to personalise learning for all students.Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement and accountability.Oversee the implementation of wellbeing programs within Years 11-12.Work with the teaching team and Senior School Academic Coaches in matters concerning the exercise of pastoral care, wellbeing and academic care of students.Facilitate a positive and dynamic working environment by developing a team approach ensuring open communication, transparent and effective decision making and collaborative work practices.About you: You are passionate about education, learning, the growth and development of individual students and care about their wellbeing.

1359, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, record keeping in relation to student safety and wellbeing, the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences (and any other information sharing and reporting obligations that may arise).
Training will be provided.Has working knowledge of and is able to adhere to the School's policies and student safety practices, including those detailed in the Student Safety at The Knox School Handbook.Satisfactorily completes a values-based interview which will assess suitability to work with children and young people, and ensure that children and young people's rights are respected.Displays a supportive and respectful attitude to students and their families and builds positive connections with all members of the school community.Holds, or is prepared to obtain, a current Level 2 First Aid Qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training.
