Head of the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR)Your business:Legal and Group Secretariat is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to CBA's external and internal legal risk management and corporate governance.Your team:The Accountability Regime Team (ART) works alongside the SpeakUP team to support CBA's strategy by building customer trust in CBA through promoting accountability and upholding integrity. The ART plays a critical role in supporting CBA and its Accountable Persons to comply with the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR). The FAR is a legislative regime which, among other things, establishes accountability obligations for banks and their senior executives and directors.Your impact and contribution:Reporting into the General Manager FAR and SpeakUP, you will lead a team of ~three employees. You will lead the ART in:Effectively administering and maintaining CBA's FAR framework;Enhancing its training and advisory support for CBA's Accountable Persons;Identifying, and coordinating investigations of, potential FAR breaches.On any given day you will:Lead and develop a professional team of FAR subject matter experts.Enhance and maintain CBA's FAR framework, which includes a policy, procedures, templates, training and guidance materials, and other resources.Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.Deliver clear, engaging and relevant training on the FAR to CBA's Accountable Persons and other senior stakeholders.Provide considered and pragmatic advice and guidance to CBA's Accountable Persons and their teams on the FAR obligations and CBA's FAR framework.Oversee ART's breach monitoring, triage and investigation processes.Promote accountability in line with CBA's values, including through supporting a deep understanding of accountability across the CBA Group.Contribute to ART's management of its risks, including its controls and compliance arrangements.Help shape and implement the ART and SpeakUP team strategy.Contribute to an engaged and inclusive culture within ART and the SpeakUP team, and Legal and Group Secretariat more broadly.Actively and effectively develop your direct reports including coaching on persuading and influencing, being a credible partner, providing insights and judgement, and effective challenge.Your experience looks like:Tertiary qualifications in law, business or another relevant field.10+ years' experience in law, governance, accountability regimes, compliance or risk management.Have led and developed small teams of subject matter experts.Deep experience working in, or advising, large financial services organisations or other highly regulated entities.Ability to influence and build trust with senior leaders.Developed and implemented compliance frameworks, policies and practices within complex regulatory environments.Demonstrated ability to manage risks and compliance obligations.Complex problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.Experience in advising on directors' and officers' duties, or accountability obligations, highly regarded but not essential.If you're already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you'll need to apply through Sidekick to submit a valid application.Advertising End Date: 18/11/2024
