The opportunity: We have an opportunity for an expert Head of Tax to lead the function and our team of dedicated tax professionals. This is a Sydney based opportunity and the successful incumbent will lead all tax operational processes, tax obligations and arrangements and act as an SME on various projects across our business. This role suit a Head of Tax with experience working within a chartered or commercial environment (within life insurance highly regarded) and who has strong operational experience. To be successful within this role you will:  Develop a broad team of tax professionals. Lead ongoing improvement for AIA Australia tax processes and operating environments Lead all tax operational compliance obligations, including corporate income tax, GST, stamp duty, transfer pricing and fringe benefits tax Manage tax risks, including monitoring and reporting on tax risks and changes, control testing, incident reporting Support tax reviews and engagement efforts relating to taxation changes Provide taxation subject matter expertise and advice to drive optimal and risk-based tax outcomes across various projects Deliver all tax accounting and reporting requirements, including requirements to Group Head Office in Hong Kong Advise on the tax implications from new and evolving tax regulations and business, system and process changes Build and maintain a strong working relationship with key internal and external collaborators at all levels of the business Act as a role model by consistently displaying leadership behaviours that encourage productive working relationships and a strong customer service culture Role model a continuous improvement / simplicity / growth mindset and consistently seek, identify and deliver improved ways of supporting various collaborators within the business Successful applications will demonstrate:  Proven experience as a Senior Manager or Head of Tax (Tax Accounting and Reporting, Compliance and Advisory) within the Australian financial services industry Qualification in Taxation or Accounting and a member of the CAANZ, CPA or equivalent professional body Exceptional people leadership, organisation and planning skills Strong judgement to make critical decisions and meet deadlines The ability to implement strategies that focus on team development and support Finance and broader Enterprise goals Strong experience of leading and motivating change management initiatives whilst maintaining operational effectiveness and meeting objectives Why choose AIA: At AIA, we've made a promise to help people live healthier, longer, better lives.
