Role Purpose:
As the Head of Supply Chain, you will lead and develop our Supply Chain function, providing strategic direction to Inventory, Logistics, and Warehousing. Your goal will be to drive cost reduction initiatives, enhance stock availability across our network, and ensure efficient and effective system-based activities. You will monitor industry trends and technology, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to control costs, mitigate operational risks, and drive continuous improvement, all while also maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership:Adapt coaching styles to meet team needs.Drive breakthrough thinking and strategic discussions.Logistics and Retail Logistics:Lead and manage logistics operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation and distribution.Develop strategies to optimize retail logistics processes, enhancing stock availability and reducing costs.Safety and Efficiency:Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing.Ensure compliance with safety and risk management requirements.Implement efficient processes to streamline operations across the distribution centres and stores network.Team Development:Lead, coach, and support the Supply Chain team.Foster collaborative relationships and accountability.Customer Focus:Develop and implement initiatives to enhance customer experiences.Identify and implement inventory management process improvements.Operational Excellence:Oversee the configuration and integration of WMS, BI, and reporting tools.Support the Supply Chain Operations team during system and process changes.Keep abreast of new innovations and technologies.Community Engagement:Support sustainability and community initiatives.Ensure sustainable stock disposal and manage national auction processes.Business Growth:Drive continuous improvement in inventory management.Provide thought leadership on industry trends and competitor capabilities.Success Profile: Experience:Substantial experience in operational logistics leadership.Solid background in retail logistics, with a proven track record of managing logistics operations in a retail environment.Knowledge of business improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean).Proven track record of managing teams under pressure.Experience in new technology adoption and process transformation.Qualifications:Tertiary qualification in a business discipline related to Supply Chain and Logistics or equivalent experience.Formal post-graduate Supply Chain qualification or membership (desirable).Technical Skills:Excellent understanding of inventory processes and policies.Extensive knowledge of WMS and TMS systems.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.Traits and Attributes: Demonstrate innovative and curious mindset approach to problem solving.High level of initiative and entrepreneurial drive.Patient and resilient with reliance on process integrity.Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.Strong business acumen.Self-awareness and adaptability.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Innovative and strategic thinking.Why it's fantastic to join us!
