We strongly encourage individuals with experience working in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities, and/or the arts and fashion industry to apply.About the RoleAs the  Head of Strategic Partnerships  you will be working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Events & Operations to manage and implement the 2024-2026 Partnership Strategy which aims to maintain and identify new  partnerships in the private sector that increase revenue and in-kind support for the DAAF Foundation. This role includes developing strong, trusting, respectful relationships with our loyal donors, charitable trusts and foundations, and other grant-making organisations to enhance the Foundation's operational capacity and program delivery.About our DAAF Foundation:The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation (DAAF Foundation) is a not-for-profit Indigenous organisation, owned and governed by the 80+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres and Peak Bodies it represents.DAAF Foundation celebrates the rich cultural and artistic diversity of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres and fashion and textiles designers. The Foundation's vision is to provide vibrant and exciting platforms for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, design, and culture with a reputation for innovation, diversity and cultural integrity. Its keystone event is the renowned Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair - both in physical and digital formats!The Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP) is a DAAF Foundation program and collaborates with Indigenous Australians working in textiles and fashion, with a range of development programs, mentoring opportunities and promotional events. This role includes:Individual Donor ManagementIdentify and research potential major donors based on their past giving history, wealth indicators, interests, philanthropic priorities and alignment to DAAF Foundation's valuesArranging one-on-one meetings, events, or exclusive opportunities for major donors to connect with DAAF Foundation senior management/Board/Art CentresProvide information to donors on the impact of their donations and how their support contributes to support DAAF Foundation in its missionImplement stewardship programs and the donor journey strategy to express gratitude and appreciation for major donors' contributionsSeek feedback from major donors on their experiences with the DAAF Foundation and its eventsActively engaging major donors in discussions about the DAAF Foundation's strategic direction and future plansSponsorship & Philanthropy (Trusts and Foundations)Collaborate with the team to identify funding priorities and conduct research to identify potential sponsors/philanthropic trusts and foundations that are aligned with DAAF Foundation's funding ready projectsMake initial contact with approved potential partners.Create compelling and targeted proposals, as directed, that align with the mission and priorities of the sponsor/philanthropic trust or foundationEstablish and maintain positive relationships with representatives from private sector partners.Engaging in regular communication with partners to provide updates on project progress, share success stories, and express gratitude for their support.Create and monitor an annual partnership stewardship matrixSecure in-kind support to reduce cash expenditure for the Foundation's events which includes, but is not limited to advertising, media, food and beverages, event suppliers.General AdministrationManage an annual grant schedule for identification, research, applications and reporting deadlines to funding bodies including trusts, foundations and government entities  using TrelloMaintain donor and partner records within the integrated CRM (Salesforce) in a respectful and confidential manner.Work with the team to create impact reports (includes event fact sheets, annual reports, submissions) to share the Foundation's social and economic impact, and demonstrate transparency and accountability in how funds are utilised.Support senior management to prepare and submit grant applications and acquittals, including all required documentation and supporting materials.Ensure that the DAAF Foundation remains compliant and accountable by monitoring terms and conditions outlined in grant agreements.Provide clear, timely and accurate development reports to the Executive Director and Board as requestedUse the  Raisely platform to set up and facilitate easy and secure donations, including receipting processMarketing & Communications & Donation AppealsWork with the marketing team to ensure major partners and donors are acknowledged through on the websites, special event materials, reports and Art Collector.Update the DAAF Sponsorship Prospectus each September ready for the following year's eventsDesign 1-2 individual donor appeals per year and work collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications Manager to deliver them using  various communication channels (social media, eDM, email, website)Essential Skills and ExperienceExperience working in non-profit organisations and/or the cultural sector.At least three years of experience in fundraising with a proven track record of success with a knowledge of national and international philanthropic communities.Experience managing and engaging diverse stakeholder groupsHighly skilled in copywriting for digital communications and content creationExcellent interpersonal, persuasive, and oral and written communication skills with the ability to achieve buy-in from colleagues and to negotiate, advise and counsel to achieve agreed outcomes.Ability to work autonomously to drive successful outcomesAbility to work with team members across various locationsCultural sensitivity and humility – recognising the importance of Indigenous perspectives and experiencesSound computer literacy and data management skills within a fundraising context. Experience with Salesforce is an advantageDesirable skills and ExperienceQualification in Business Development, Business Management or MarketingEstablished network of potential partnersExperience in partnership development in the art, fashion, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural spaceA current drivers licenceExperience working in or with Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesConfident in public speaking#J-18808-Ljbffr
