Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services - Narbethong State Special SchoolThe Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services leads the strategic development and operational implementation of statewide services for children and students with blindness or vision impairment.Reporting to the Director, Statewide Services, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, the successful applicant will lead a team of specialist teachers and support staff in the delivery of a quality, evidence-based and outcome-focused statewide service.The Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity.About the RoleThe Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services oversees a team of specialist staff to deliver services to children and students in the following areas:alternative format libraryassistive technologybraille literacy advisory serviceeducation low vision assessment centreorientation and mobilityloans and equipmentThe successful applicant will have deep knowledge of vision impairment in education, a proven teaching record in this area, and positive and proactive leadership and team-building skills.
