Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services - Narbethong State Special School The Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services leads the strategic development and operational implementation of statewide services for children and students with blindness or vision impairment.
Reporting to the Director, Statewide Services, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, the successful applicant will lead a team of specialist teachers and support staff in the delivery of a quality, evidence-based and outcome-focused statewide service.

About the Role The Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services oversees a team of specialist staff to deliver services to children and students in the following areas:
alternative format library assistive technology braille literacy advisory service education low vision assessment centre orientation and mobility loans and equipment The successful applicant will have deep knowledge of vision impairment in education, a proven teaching record in this area, and positive and proactive leadership and team-building skills.
It is an exciting opportunity to work with the broader statewide services team to deliver quality services and to continue to develop the strategic direction of the department regarding the education of students who are blind or vision impaired.
Statewide Vision Impairment Services is co-located at Narbethong State Special School, Buranda, Metropolitan South Region.
