Our purpose is to prepare resilient global citizens, who are innovative thinkers with a heart for servant leadership.ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:This role would commence in January 2025 on an initial contract of 5 years, with a further contract subject to satisfactory performance in the role.The Head of Sport leads the Sports program for students from year 5-12, providing students with the opportunity to develop through active participation, skills development, commitment to a team, and healthy competition.
The Head of Sport also provides oversight, guidance, and support to the Co-ordinator of Sport who coordinates the JTAS & TAS Program.
The role is supported by an Administrative Assistant and has multiple direct reports including: Coordinators of each Sport, Sport Coaching & Development Co-ordinator, and Co-ordinator of Sport.As this leadership role will involve varying hours, there is flexibility in negotiating work hours (including subsequent day off during the School week in time of lieu of Saturday sport during terms 1-3, and if teaching load is required).
This would be negotiated with the successful candidate at the time of offer.To be successful in this role, you will have:Graduate qualifications in education; post-graduate qualification in Education/educational leadership/management; relevant professional memberships (e.g.
ACEL, AIM).Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.Coaching qualifications (preferably Level 2) in a range of sports.A minimum of 5 years teaching experience.Knowledge of and experience in addressing current National and State educational agendas as relevant to the HPE/teaching areas.An exceptional standard of personal and professional integrity, demeanour and presentation, that reflects and promotes the ethos of the School and seniority of this position, and the standing of the School in the independent sector.Proven ability to develop and lead staff to work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment.Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.Apply now to join our wonderful team:Submit your application via this advert.Please include a
