Bundaberg North State School is seeking applications for a Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to join their school community on a temporary full-time basis, from 28 January 2025 until 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined. This HOSES position involves working and supporting 7 schools and SEP staff within the cluster. The position is for Term 1 with the possibility of extension.

About Bundaberg North State School Bundaberg North is a Prep to Year 6 primary school with an enrolment of about 375 students. We are located next to the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens in Queensland, Australia. Our school has enjoyed a proud history since officially opening in 1875, with the aviator Bert Hinkler being our most famous past student. About the Role As the Head of Special Education Services, you will:
Focus on educational leadership, participating in delivering the vision of State Schools Division.Develop the quality of teaching and learning.Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community, and stakeholders.The Head of Special Education Services is accountable to and under the direction of the principal or delegate.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Multi-Tiered System of Student Support.Lead and manage Inclusive Education to provide advice to classroom teachers for all students.Provide high-quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers, and other school staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.Provide, support, and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
