This Lead Developer will direct and guide the core /dev team in design, coding, testing, researching & analysing developments. This role involves SDLC in Agile such as running planning, design & retro session as well as management and schedule of dev resources. The primary focus of the role will be the management of development team and support of the Networked Data Platform(NDP), leveraging Scala/Java based on open source Apache Spark, Ignite, Solr and Arrow. Responsibilities include:Provide and support a strategic vision that integrates a broad range of ideas for software developmentsWork on core engineering in Apache SparkWork closely with the product manager, business analyst, and chief of engineering to develop the technical design and solutionsAnalyse, design, implement and test programs in one or more programming languagesProvide solutions to technical difficulties and complex issues that might affect various fields and subject areas simultaneouslyUse agile drive method to approach design solutionWork effectively with in an Agile cross-functional team. Actively engage and contribute to the continuous improvement of Agile and lean process and practicesContribute to functional and technical design of software, systems, interfaces, and productsSupport integrated applications with an understanding of test automation, continuous integration and delivery, and system configuration management.The successful candidate will have:Strong background of SDLC in agile methodologiesQuick problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude and reasoningProven work experience in a similar or related field, like architecture and designExperience in leading, managing, mentoring a team of junior developersKnowledge about computer science, functional/OO programming skills, data structures, algorithms, data processing and networking, etc.Experience developing code for problem-solving in the data processing using different languages, especially Scala, Java, and Apache SparkProven experience developing and packaging Enterprise S/WExtensive knowledge of distributed computing frameworks, especially Spark, is highly desirableExperience with automation: build, test and deploymentA pragmatic and practical attitude to developmentExperience working in a fast paced and dynamic environmentThis role is open -wide, with a preference for Melbourne or .
