What's the role on offer? Based onsite at our Head Office near Brisbane Airport, this is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management team as our Head of Safety. As the CASR Part 142 Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee quality assurance activities, ensuring operations align with regulatory and company standards. This role demands authority, independence, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Lead the implementation, maintenance, and administration of the Safety Management System (SMS) across the organization, fostering a strong safety culture.Ensure compliance with the Air Operators Certificate (AOC), regulatory requirements, and company standards, while managing the Corporate Emergency Response Plan and safety training programs.Oversee safety and security reporting, including analysis of incidents, hazards, and accidents, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are effectively implemented.Maintain communication with senior management, operational leaders, and regulatory bodies (CASA, ATSB) on safety performance, incidents, and compliance matters.Monitor the Safety and Quality Management Systems' objectives and ensure performance aligns with organizational goals, reporting updates to the CEO and Board of Directors.Manage safety performance of personnel, contractors, and third-party suppliers, ensuring adherence to safety policies, training requirements, and operational procedures. Who are we looking for? We're seeking an accomplished aviation safety professional with the qualifications, skills, and experience to lead safety initiatives and drive operational excellence. You'll bring a proactive mindset, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of CASA regulations to this critical role.

Qualified Expert: Holds tertiary education in business or aviation safety, formal risk management training, and CASA-acceptable credentials.Proven Experience: Extensive aviation industry background with a strong focus on airline operations and safety management.Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of CASA regulations, ensuring compliance and operational alignment.Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal, and staff management skills to inspire and guide teams effectively.Analytical Problem Solver: Excels in analytical reasoning, conflict resolution, and decision-making with attention to detail and urgency.Effective Communicator: Possesses outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage confidential matters professionally.
