We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Risk to join our Westpac Institutional Banking (WIB) second line risk team.
You will provide independent non-financial risk oversight to the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and Global Transactional Services (GTS) including operational risk, ensuring risk decisions remain consistent with risk appetite, enabling development and monitoring of a strong risk culture, embedding the 3LoD model, and embedding supporting frameworks and policies into the second line to meet regulatory and governance requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Provide 2LOD Oversight over WIB line of businesses (CIB, GTS), WIB Finance and NZ Branch.Provide oversight of key WIB line of business artefacts including the risk profile, risk appetite statement and risk management framework implementation.Provide independent advice and support to the relevant LoB Leadership Teams on risk appetite, risk profile and control environment.Provide 2nd line independent challenge and oversight of the design and implementation of material projects within WIB to ensure that risks are well managed and controls are appropriately designed, tested and implemented. Full oversight of High-risk projects as agreed with divisional CRO and delivered risk oversight of all projects impacting the control environment.Drive embedding, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework and key supporting policies to achieve business objectives in line with regulatory and policy requirements.Improve risk involvement in execution to simplify and speed delivery.In partnership with WIB risk teams, ensure regular Board and Executive reporting to ensure the appropriate governance and escalation of key issues, emerging risks and incidents.Act as a central contact point for WIB 2LOD, coordinating activities across the risk profile to support a holistic approach to risk management.Represent WIB Risk on key initiatives as agreed with the divisional CRO and as outlined in annual oversight plans.
