About the role
The Head of Regulatory Engagement, Emerging Risks and Reporting is a senior leadership position within the Group Risk team at Cbus. This role will be responsible for leading and managing Cbus' engagement with its regulators (including APRA and ASIC) and ensuring that regulatory engagement, requests and lodgements are complete, accurate and reflect current operations and strategy.
The role will foster a proactive and transparent engagement model with regulators. This role will also be responsible for monitoring emerging risks (including regulatory change) and providing accurate and insightful risk and compliance reporting to the board, sub-committees and executive risk committee.
This role will support the Chief Risk Officer and will involve working with Directors, Executives, Senior leaders and other business unit stakeholders across Cbus.
Responsibilities:
Lead and drive the culture of transparent and constructive regulatory relationships within Cbus and be the central point of contact. Coordinate prudential reviews, meetings and ongoing engagement with APRA including pre-meeting preparation, coordination of follow up actions, ensuring timely and transparent responses to requests, monitoring/reporting of action and maintain a central and complete file of regulatory commitments and engagements. Monitor regulatory change and emerging risks that affect Cbus's operations and coordinate and prepare submissions to regulators and government entities. Coordinate and prepare risk and compliance reporting for the board, board committees and executive risk committees and develop the agenda for board risk and executive risk committees in consultation with CRO, 1st line risk and compliance team and other business stakeholders. Qualifications:
To be successful you will have proven deep experience in compliance and/or regulatory relations in an APRA or ASIC regulated industry (over 10 years). You will have vast experience in operating within a regulated environment, managing regulatory change and government policies. You will have highly developed communication skills both written and verbal. This includes 1:1 and in small groups at Board and senior Government and industry levels on legal and risk management policy matters for superannuation sector. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels of the business. You will have demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into operational reality, through delegation, managing team performance, creating accountability, and aligning systems and processes.
