Job Description The Head of Radio Technology is responsible for shaping and executing the technology strategy for Nine Radio in alignment with overall business objectives.
This role requires strong leadership and expertise in radio and broadcast technologies, IT systems, and vendor management.
The successful candidate will oversee a distributed team across major locations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth, ensuring operational efficiency and technical reliability for Nine Radio.
Responsibilities include but won't be limited to: Developing and guiding Nine Radio's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
Maintaining strong relationships with internal technical teams and stakeholders.
Overseeing external vendor relationships, ensuring optimal value and support for Nine Radio's operations.
Identifying and driving efficiencies within Radio's technology function, exploring synergies with Nine's broader tech teams.
Leading efforts to enhance Radio's production technology, keeping it at the forefront of industry advancements.
Ensuring best practices in security, risk management, and change management processes across Radio's infrastructure.
Overseeing IT and broadcast technology lifecycle, ensuring timely upgrades and maintenance.
Managing high-impact technical incidents, ensuring swift recovery and service continuity.
Leading and motivating a large high performing team.
Providing additional IT and engineering support to ensure smooth daily operations and project success.
Managing Radio's technology budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Overseeing transmitter site leases and support agreements for operations.
Nurturing relationships with Nine Technology Managers and internal stakeholders, including Radio executives.
Qualifications Extensive experience leading technical teams in broadcast or radio.
Proficiency in contemporary business tools and policy administration.
Strong knowledge of radio and broadcast technologies, IT systems, and infrastructure with successful implementation.
Ability to develop and execute technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts for optimal services and support.
Skilled in streamlining operations and integrating with broader tech teams.
Expertise in applying security, risk, and change management best practices to safeguard technical infrastructure.
Experience managing the lifecycle of IT and broadcast systems, including upgrades, replacements, and maintenance.
Ability to manage high-impact technical incidents to ensure service continuity.
Proficient in managing budgets for efficient resource allocation.
Excellent communication and collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
