Our client is a property investment firm based in South Yarra and they are seeking a Head of accounting to set this side of the business up.
As the Head of Accounting you'll play a crucial role in shaping and executing our tax strategies for property investors while growing a team of talented professionals. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally, providing strategic guidance on tax planning, compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise their clients tax position and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Grow & build a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.Partner with internal stakeholders to provide tax insights and support business initiatives.Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management on potential impacts and opportunities.Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders. Tax Returns: Entering and allocating accounting transactions for SMSFsUndertaking bank and investment reconciliationsPreparing financial statements and tax returns for SMSFsManaging rollovers, contributions, pensions, and lump sums for fundsConsulting with third parties such as the Australian Tax Office and financial institutionsAccurate record-keeping, processing, and system managementSupporting our network of financial and investment advisersAbout you: Accounting degree is a mustTheir environment can be fast-paced, and we work with multiple clients at any one time, so your ability to manage competing priorities is equally as important as your accounting skills.
