About the Role As the Head of Programs, Research & Funding , you will be at the helm of NQ Eye Foundation's day-to-day operations. In this key leadership position, you'll drive the organisation's strategy, growth, and impact. You'll have the freedom to shape initiatives that directly support our mission and contribute to improving eye health outcomes across the community.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Community Engagement: Cultivating relationships with stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters to raise awareness of our mission and activities Fundraising & Grants: Expanding our fundraising efforts through grant writing, donor engagement, and organising fundraising events Strategy Development: Crafting and executing programs and initiatives that align with the Foundation's vision and long-term goals We offer a competitive salary package, including the option for salary sacrifice, and the potential for flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options (with a preference for candidates based in Townsville).
About You We're looking for a proactive and passionate leader who can take ownership of this dynamic role and make a meaningful impact in the community. To succeed in this position, you'll need:
Strong autonomy and self-direction: You'll be trusted to manage your own time and priorities effectively Exceptional communication skills: You can connect with people at all levels, from community members to major donors Excellent organisational and project management abilities: You're a natural when it comes to balancing multiple initiatives and meeting deadlines Experience in building and nurturing relationships: Whether with stakeholders, partners, or donors, you'll know how to foster long-lasting, productive relationships Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Health or Behavioural Sciences, Business Management, or a related field
- Post-graduate qualifications in quantitative research (Health sciences, Behavioural science, or related fields) would be highly regarded
- Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector (fundraising, program development, and financial management) is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of non-profit financial management and compliance regulations is a plus
