The GET Business Line is internally called CR Mining and we are on a mission to revolutionize mining productivity and deliver exceptional customer experience via our leading product lines and superior service.


We engineer advanced digging and loading solutions for all mining excavating machines to enhance safety, reduce carbon intensity, provide real-time operating data solutions, unlock productivity performance, and improve maintainability requirements. We are a trusted supply partner within the global mining community delivering highly innovative, cutting edge and socially responsible products and technology solutions.


With a track record of innovation and customer excellence for over 40 years, CR Mining is currently undertaking strategic & significant growth; employing 450 people located primarily in offices and plants in Australia, China and North & South America. Specifically, 80 % CR Mining's revenue comes from its market leading and patent protected ground engaging tools (GET) range, with its inherently attractive recurring razor / razorblade economics.


In February 2023, CR Mining was acquired by Epiroc and is part of the TLD Division. CR Mining has a suite of opportunities and with the combination of Epiroc and CR Mining, the key is to fully leverage the synergies to maximise profitable growth.


The Role


We are seeking the Head of Product Management and Development to drive the product management and development capabilities within our business, ensuring sustained profitable growth across our product portfolio. In this critical role, you will deeply understand the market and customer value drivers, crafting compelling offers that resonate with our target audience. You will take ownership of our strategic vision, translating it from a 5-year roadmap into actionable annual business plans that guide our commercial teams toward focused execution.


Your leadership will be pivotal in managing a highly competent product management team, responsible for our portfolio's commercial offerings, pricing frameworks, and sales and technical collateral. Additionally, you will oversee our development capabilities, ensuring that they align with our strategic plan and are delivered through optimal models using both internal and external resources. This role is key to positioning our business for long-term success and driving innovation in our product offerings.


Key elements of the role description are:


Drive rigorous market analysis, developing understanding of the mining value chain within the broader business
Systemically identify market opportunities, from a range of segment perspectives (ie geographic, commodity type, equipment type etc), assigning customer value to each whilst assessing relative size of market opportunities
Develop and maintain competitive intelligence database and overall competitive landscape
Develop and own 5-year strategic plan aligned to overall Vision
Lead annual business planning process, locking in key initiatives with regional sales objectives
Provide business leadership (internally and externally), consistently demonstrating the inherent value of the CR business
Develop and manage sophisticated product management capability that understands market drivers and is constantly seeking profitable segments to expand penetration of existing portfolio, while simultaneously assessing profitable gaps to provide prioritisation to the technology development roadmap
Develop and manage a broad range of development capabilities, both mechanical & hardware/software centred, to deliver the agreed technical capability aligned with the commercialisation timeline
Ensure sales teams are appropriately informed and guided in terms of product & service effective operating envelopes, acceptable offer construction & pricing policy. Drive compliance across the sales teams by developing effective offer approval and customer performance review mechanisms
Own and develop the CR brand, managing key promotional initiatives and activities, ensuring consistent messaging both internally and externally
Manage key sales collateral and technical documentation (including drawings, technical specifications etc)
Manage the IP portfolio, defining areas requiring protection and planning for end-of-life scenarios
Own the continuous improvement process (CI), providing the operational framework and cadence mechanisms to drive the business forward
Support sales efforts through strategic customer interactions, presentations, events etc


Business Leadership


Conduct in-depth market analysis to understand the mining value chain within the broader business context.
Systematically identify and evaluate market opportunities across various segments, assessing customer value and market potential by geographic region, commodity type, and equipment type
Develop and manage a sophisticated product management capability that identifies profitable market segments and prioritizes technology development based on market needs and opportunities.
Oversee a range of mechanical and hardware/software development capabilities to ensure alignment with commercialization timelines, and guide sales teams on product offerings, pricing, and compliance through effective approval and review mechanisms.


Own and develop the CR brand through managing key promotional initiatives, sales collateral, technical documentation, and IP portfolio; drive continuous improvement processes and support sales efforts through strategic customer interactions and events.
Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.


People and Self Leadership

To succeed in the role, we believe it is important that you have:


Minimum 10 years' general business experience with broad exposure to sales and marketing and manufacturing
A university degree in Business or Engineering, with further studies in management.
Previous accountability and demonstrated performance in either Sales (BD) or Manufacturing
Demonstrated Leadership experience of large and diverse teams in industrial environment for OHSEQ exposure.
Ideally have had P&L management business at a National Level
Past M&A experience including successful integration.
Preference to have relevant mining-related experience.


The position is in Brisbane, Australia and will require some domestic and international travel. For international candidates, local plus terms & conditions will apply.
