Job Description

Purpose of the role

Reporting to Global Head of Private Client -

Responsible for the leadership of the Private Clients business within Ocorian, Cayman taking accountability for ensuring the global Private Client strategy is successfully executed at the local level. Accountable for local Private Client performance, ensuring profit and loss achievement in line with global targets set through the annual planning cycle.
Provide leadership for the Private Client teams in Cayman and take responsibility for local P&L, client satisfaction and client retention as well as management of selected client accounts, as determined by the global Private Client strategy.

Main Responsibilities

Build and nurture long term client relationships as a trusted solution provider
Ensure high quality of client service
Understand market and industry trends to enhance our product offering
Understand client needs and Ocorian competitive advantage using data analytics
Identify strong upsell/cross sell opportunities using industry knowledge and awareness of broader Ocorian offering
Market Ocorian internally and externally with credibility and personal presence
Influence the strategic direction of Private Clients Service Line
Cascade strategy and lead in its operational implementation
Budget/forecast with accuracy & "manage the P&L". Take appropriate corrective action to mitigate financial gaps
Identify business opportunities beyond own business area to support cross-selling activity and growth of other service lines
Plan for the medium and long-term. Taking into consideration internal and external market trends
Negotiate and influence stakeholders using highly developed communication skills with significant discretion in terms of what and how is said
Adjust their style and messaging according to audience needs to achieve desired outcomes.
Use empathy to understand the agenda and emotions of the audience and respond to these when delivering positive and challenging messages
Drive transformation bringing people with them
Lead a team with multiple management layers or a sizeable team of highly qualified professionals.
Demonstrate accountability for own deliverables and those of their teams
Deliver expected output through people - plan and delegate work, recruit, performance manage, enable positive employee relations, coach and develop their team
Transform the capability of the Private Client, Cayman team
Forecast and plan for future people needs using internal and external insights
Provide coaching and mentoring to build strong succession pipeline and group talent pool

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience -

Qualified Solicitor, Accountant or other relatable occupation with direct Private Wealth experience.
Ability to provide strong leadership and demonstrate core values inspiring confidence and trust and motivating teams to produce quality service.
Strong corporate governance experience and demonstrable ability to operate at board level.
Proven business development and marketing experience including an ability to communicate effectively with and gain the trust of high-net-worth individuals and their advisers, develop, and implement marketing initiatives and generate new business.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience of public speaking at conferences and seminars.
Strong interest in staff development and mentoring at all levels.
Strong commercial acumen.
A practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving including the practical application of legal knowledge to client matters, including understanding regional differences across the multi-jurisdictional service line.
Strong knowledge of AML and CFT laws and regulations.
In depth knowledge and understanding of the Fiduciary and Protection of Investor legal and regulatory framework and principles of operating in this environment.
A deep knowledge of the Private Client world and related dynamics
