About the Role We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and innovative leader to head our Performing Arts Department. The Head of Performing Arts will inspire students and staff in developing a love for Music and the Performing Arts, engaging students from Stages 4 to 6 with the highest level of excellence in teaching and performance. Full-Time Permanent Position Starting Date: Term 1, 2025 Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and inspire the Performing Arts Department to foster creativity, excellence, and innovation. Teach Stages 4, 5, and 6 Music, including Music Extension, with a commitment to outstanding pedagogy and learning outcomes. Oversee curriculum development and compliance with NESA and IB standards. Coordinate and oversee a wide range of musical and Theatresports ensembles, encouraging high levels of student engagement and achievement. Organise and lead performances, concerts, school musicals, and drama events, promoting Tara's strong Performing Arts tradition. Support and develop Tara's Music Scholarship program in collaboration with the Principal and Executive. Implement and promote the integration of ICT in teaching and learning, fostering a modern and engaging classroom environment. What We Are Looking For Qualifications and Accreditation – Tertiary qualifications with NESA accreditation to teach Secondary Music in NSW. Teaching Experience – Proven success teaching Stages 4-6 Music, including recent Stage 6 and Music Extension experience. Leadership Skills – Strong leadership in managing music ensembles and team dynamics. Curriculum and Technology Proficiency – Excellent knowledge of NSW Music Curriculum and experience in a 1-to-1 laptop environment.
