The newly created Head of Operations role will be a central part of a new leadership team being established to take the organisation to the next level.
Position Overview:Reporting to the CEO, this multifaceted role will work across multiple departments and be responsible for managing all aspects of the student's journey, from onboarding through to successful course completion.
This role is crucial in ensuring that there is a strong focus on building efficient and sustainable business practices that benefit students and colleagues.
The role will work closely with internal and third-party providers to leverage the latest advancements in technology to create a seamless and supported experience for our students.Managing a team of 50-60 operations specialists, the role will demand excellent leadership, attention to detail, a willingness to be hands-on to understand and help drive change, and importantly, a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
We are open to candidates from diverse backgrounds provided they have some prior operational experience.
It is a fast-growing organisation, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable applying their learnings from larger enterprise organisations or their own business ventures in a new context.

Key Responsibilities: Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's vision and objectives.
Identify and secure the right capabilities needed to reach these strategic objectives.Transformation: Shape and own the division's transformation agenda to create an industry-leading operational platform that will be the cornerstone of the organisation's growth for years to come.Process Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and optimisation of operational processes that underpin the student's journey with us, creating every opportunity for the student to succeed in their chosen subject.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of operational staff.

As a key member of the organisation's Senior Leadership Team, you will be expected to bring an enterprise-wide perspective to each situation and operate in a way that fosters a culture of collaboration and success.Engagement: Foster a highly engaged workforce.Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and implement data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.Budget Management: Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets while seeking realistic efficiency gains that do not compromise the organisation's service standards.Quality Assurance: Implement and embed quality control measures to ensure all training programs meet industry standards and the organisation exceeds client expectations.Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and manage risks associated with operational activities.Innovation and Technology: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in training technology.
Work seamlessly with Technology and Innovation teams to evaluate and implement tools that enhance operational efficiency and the overall training experience.Experience:Minimum of 7 years of operational experience.
Prior experience and interest in the training and education sector would be beneficial but are not essential.
Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.Entrepreneurial mindset – willing to take calculated risks.Analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proven experience utilizing technology to drive customer and commercial benefits.Prior experience of driving change within an operational context; new system implementation experience would be highly beneficial.Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.Knowledge of national training regulations and quality assurance standards.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.This is a Brisbane-based 'in office' role.
