Role and Responsibilities:
The Head of Netball at our school will lead our netball program, inspiring students to develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship on and off the court. This role involves overseeing the coaching and training of netball teams across various age groups, designing effective practice sessions, and fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
As the Head of Netball at Toorak College, you will:
Program Leadership: Implement and oversee the development and coordination of the school's netball program for Primary and Secondary students, ensuring it aligns with school values and goals.
Team Management: Coach and mentor high-level netball teams across various age groups, fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Training and Development: Plan and execute effective practice sessions that build players' skills, strategies, and physical fitness.
Player Development: Support each player's individual growth, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and providing constructive feedback.
Competition Coordination: Organise and manage participation within the GSV competition, school competitions, matches, and tournaments, ensuring teams are prepared and equipped.
Community Engagement: Promote a positive culture within the netball community, encouraging student and family involvement in school sports.
The majority of work will take place during the netball season, operating over Terms 2 and 3, with some preparatory administration during Terms 1 and 4. Total hours are negotiable based on the successful candidate's availability; however, it is expected that the Head of Netball will be available on specific afternoons (Fridays and Saturdays) to support the GSV competition, attend morning training sessions, and actively organise community netball requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements: Previous experience working as a Netball Coach, ideally within a school environment. Current Working with Children Check – Employer. Proven experience in coaching students across Junior and Senior levels. Demonstrated coaching practice and techniques within a highly competitive environment. Excellent communication skills and an ability to connect with students. A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based coaching practices. Application Process:
