Head of Mission and Identity (K-12) - commencing in 2025 St Lucy's School is a Catholic primary and secondary school in the Dominican tradition for students with disabilities.

The position of Head of Mission and Identity (K-12) role is located at our Wahroonga campus, for a permanent position commencing Term 1, 2025.
The Head of Mission and Identity (K-12) is a key member of the School Executive Team and will be responsible to the Principal for promoting and giving life to the identity of the School as a Catholic School in the Dominican tradition.

Key Responsibilities:
Promote the mission of the Catholic Church and actively engage in its ministry; Demonstrate a deep appreciation of and the living of Catholic beliefs and values; Work with members of the School community to reflect on the way in which the School is living and teaching in the Dominican tradition; Build on and nurture the Dominican ethos and Charism of the school; Network with the local parish, neighbouring schools and the local community to share knowledge and resources to build community; Provide leadership in the development of the Religious Education Curriculum; Develop and coordinate a Sacramental Program in collaboration with the local Church; Give leadership in the facilitation of ritual/celebration/liturgy/prayer/retreat programs and allocated events; Organise respite/retreat events for parents and support groups; Ensure a contemporary and inclusive educational vision for the School; Foster and demonstrate best practice in teaching and learning across the religious domain; Ensure that the Religious Education curriculum addresses the particular requirements of students with special education needs; Oversee the Religious Education curriculum and work with teachers on curriculum development; Work collaboratively with the Board, local Parish, and parent community.
About You:
Active membership of the Catholic Church and involvement in a Sunday Catholic Eucharistic community; Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of the Catholic Church in the Dominican tradition; Relevant teaching qualifications and postgraduate qualifications in Religious Education, Leadership, or Theology; Well-developed leadership, people management, and supervisory skills; Extensive experience as an outstanding Teacher with a passion for education; Capacity for leading and managing change within the School environment; Highly developed organisational, administrative, and strategic skills; Integrity, accountability, and efficiency in carrying out duties; Approachable and responsive to all members of staff; Knowledge of budgetary and financial management processes; Setting the highest professional standards and being an excellent role model; Current Teacher Accreditation with NESA and a current Employee Working with Children Check; Participation in co-curricular activities, camps, and excursions.
Desirable:
Qualifications or study in Special Education; Prior experience in Special Education in Primary or Secondary schools.
