Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training)Iona College is seeking a skilled and passionate educator to be employed as our Head of Library, commencing in 2025.The Head of Library leads and directs in delivering library services and teaching programs that connect the staff and students of Iona College to print and digital collections and content, enabling access to and use of knowledge resources.As a teacher, the Head of Library is responsible for the development of education and advocacy programs from the Resource Centre and their delivery to students and the wider College community when suitable. The position oversees the area of Archives, working with the College Archivist.As the successful candidate you will be required to:Lead, develop and mentor all members within the Library team to ensure professional development as well as the meeting of expected standards in line with Code of Conduct and policies. This includes the management and leadership of day-to-day staffing matters within the Library.Communicate Key Performance Indicators from the School Improvement Plan (SIP) ensuring the delivery of the actions within area of accountability for students and staff.Maintain knowledge of the College curriculum through collaborative association with Heads of Faculty, Heads of Department and teachers.Meet and adhere to the ACARA and QCAA standards.Collaboratively share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with AITSL, ACARA and QCAA standards and requirements.Manage the Library's financial and material resources including the formation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.To be considered for this role you should:Have experience in middle to senior years including holding a role with QCAA (endorser, confirmer and marker);Have an understanding of an inclusive model of learning with a wellbeing lens;Have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education;Have strong leadership skills and be an effective communicator with all stakeholders;Be able to demonstrate exemplary teaching practice;Hold a Bachelors' Degree in education or equivalent qualifications; andProvide copies of relevant qualifications and evidence of current Queensland Teachers Registration (QCT) or eligibility to apply.Please include the following in your application:A covering letter addressing your suitability for this role based on your skills, knowledge and experience;A current resume.Applications close at 6.00pm on Monday 21 October, 2024.
