An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a senior superannuation lawyer to join this dynamic and highly collaborative in-house legal team.
Reporting to the General Counsel and managing a small team, you will support the business with the provision of commercially oriented legal advice with a focus on superannuation law, trust law, and financial services law. In this key leadership role, you will have end to end responsibility for the Legal Advisory team, providing practical and commercial legal advice to the business. Key areas of advice will include defined benefit funds and trust deed interpretation, trust deed amendments, superannuation law, financial services law, AML/CTF and privacy law issues, as well as review of marketing materials, PDS, and disclosure documents.
You will be a results focused senior superannuation lawyer with deep knowledge of trust law, the SIS Act, SGA Act, Corporations Act, as well as APRA/ASIC regulatory guides. An established people leader, you will thrive within this fast-paced and collaborative environment, and you will have the courage to bring ideas to the table, adding value strategically and practically. With highly developed interpersonal skills, you will also have a proven ability to exercise independent judgment and will be pragmatic and logical in approach to decision making. Melbourne based.
