Head of Learning Area - The Arts Branch: Karratha Senior High School Division: Independent Public School - Pilbara Education Region Salary: Level 3, $125,850 - $137,715 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021) This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Karratha Senior High School (SHS) is an integral part of the community, providing a high quality education for all students located in the City of Karratha, the hub of the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Karratha SHS is seeking an experienced and vibrant Head of Learning Area (HOLA) – The Arts to join our dedicated leadership team.
The successful applicant should be an excellent classroom practitioner and possess the ability to motivate staff to implement best practice to support the learning needs of all students in The Arts.
The HOLA will lead the implementation of an innovative and dynamic curriculum in and beyond the classroom and ensure high level engagement and outcomes for our students.
As the HOLA, you will ideally display the ability to teach one or more of the following courses at Year 12 ATAR level: Visual Arts, Media Production and Analysis, Drama, Music and/or Dance.
You will also provide instructional leadership in relation to academic performance and innovative teaching practices ensuring the ongoing commitment of a school culture focused on high performance and high care.
The HOLA leads staff to develop and deliver quality teaching, learning, and assessment programs in line with the Western Australian Curriculum and be an active member of the school's leadership team.
You will ideally reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to demonstrate their skills in the Arts to the school and wider community.

Demonstrated capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
