We offer a safe and nurturing environment for educationally marginalised students from metropolitan, rural, and remote areas.We are currently seeking an experienced educator for the position of Head of Learning Area – Health and Physical Education. Heads of Learning Areas are leaders within their specific curriculum related area of the College and responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of student differentiation from Years 7 to 12. This person will play a key role in assisting the College to consolidate its Vision for Learning. The successful applicant will have experience planning and delivering modified programmes in Health Education (7-12) and Health, Physical & Outdoor Education – Foundation (11-12) as well as experience leading colleagues in this learning area.The Head of Learning Area is required to directly and positively influence the quality of teaching and learning throughout the school. The position is one that requires leadership in relation to curriculum initiative, the learning and teaching process and co-ordination of exciting programmes which facilitate and engage student learning. The person in the position should have a visionary approach to learning and an acute interest in current and future initiatives in curriculum including areas such as:Enhancing challenge and achievement in student learningLearning stylesDigital technology and its uses in curriculumPersonalisation and differentiationSocial and emotional wellbeingThe Head of Learning Area – Health and Physical Education should be able to provide clear direction, enthuse and motivate a team of teaching and support staff to maximise curriculum delivery appropriate to the specific enrichment needs of students.The Head of Learning Area – Health and Physical Education should be a role model as an educator and professional learner, and a mentor for staff.
