About the Role As the Head of Junior School, you will oversee the leadership and management of Years K-4, reporting directly to the Principal. This critical leadership role combines strategic vision, operational oversight, and spiritual guidance, ensuring that students and staff thrive in a supportive, Christ-centered learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include curriculum development, student wellbeing initiatives, and fostering professional growth among Junior School staff, all while upholding the school's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities Serve as a spiritual role model for students, staff, and families. Lead faith-based initiatives, including prayer, devotions, and integrating Christian values into daily school life. Collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to implement strategic goals for the Junior School. Drive curriculum development aligned with the Australian Curriculum, with a focus on STEAM education and teaching excellence. Oversee the pastoral care and wellbeing of students, creating a safe and nurturing environment. Develop and lead programs that support students' personal and spiritual growth, while managing discipline and behaviour issues effectively. Mentor and guide Junior School staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development. Lead recruitment, induction, and performance management for staff in the Junior School. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Junior School, including timetabling, budget management, and event coordination. Ensure the effective use of school facilities and resources. Build strong relationships with parents, fostering trust and collaboration. Represent the Junior School at community events and maintain positive connections with the broader community. Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and experience leading faith-based activities. Proven ability to implement and lead strategic initiatives that align with the school's mission. Extensive experience in primary education, with a deep understanding of literacy, numeracy, and STEAM education practices. Strong background in pastoral care, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Experience mentoring and managing teams, including staff recruitment and performance reviews. Familiarity with STEAM initiatives in primary education.
