Our Sydney-based Wealth team has a newly created opportunity for a Head of Investments to lead the strategy and management of our wholesale investment product and advice offering.
This role will be pivotal in developing and managing the strategy for our wholesale investment product and advice offering, with a key focus on structured products and bonds. Additionally, the position will oversee the technical requirements of wholesale advice across the business.
Reporting to the Head of Wealth, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders, including the Head of WPB Australia, Heads of Product and Finance, among others. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for driving product innovation, ensuring strong governance and compliance, and managing a small team, while delivering high-quality investment solutions for our clients.
This is a high-impact role within HSBC, offering you the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and shape the future of our wholesale investment product offering.
Your main responsibilities will include: Managing the development and execution of the strategy for the wholesale investment product and advice offering.Designing and implementing a research and insights strategy, leveraging global content and infrastructure to inform decision-making.Managing existing bonds and structured product offerings.Ensuring strong product control, governance, and compliance across all investment solutions.Managing the operations of the bonds and structured products portfolio.Leading and developing a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.Demonstrating leadership and integrity in all regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.To be successful in this role, you will need: Proven experience in strategy development and execution at a senior level, within financial services.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and effectively lead and motivate a team.Extensive operational management experience with retail wealth product portfolios including products such as managed funds, ETFs, bonds, structured products, and other investment solutions.A track record in the design and launch of new investment products.Strong ability to collaborate with distribution businesses to successfully engage customers and deliver wealth products and services.In-depth knowledge of product management, including design, compliance, and lifecycle management.A thorough understanding of Australian wholesale advice regulation and commercial models.Expertise in wealth products, with a deep understanding of the Australian financial services landscape.Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
