The Opportunity As Head of Health and Physical Education, you will lead a dynamic team in promoting wellbeing, fitness, and holistic health across the Senior School. You will:
Lead the development and implementation of innovative, excellence-driven health and physical education programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and WACE.Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the Protective Behaviours Curriculum, ensuring alignment with student wellbeing goals.Collaborate with the Senior School Sports Co-ordinator to manage sports carnivals, interschool events, and other sports competitions.Promote wellbeing and health initiatives, including physical fitness programs and mental health awareness.Foster resilience-building strategies and holistic health education across the College.Play an active role in the Academic Leadership Team and Senior School's Academic Council, ensuring alignment with the College's Curriculum Plan.Why Join Tranby College? Holds a Bachelor's degree in a related field with a graduate qualification in Education or a Bachelor of Education with a relevant major.Has current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).Has proven leadership experience in an independent school setting, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in student outcomes.Has strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogy, curriculum development, and physical education strategies.Demonstrates the ability to lead a team in the effective use of data and emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning.Has excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, respect, and service.Teaching Load: 0.8 FTE5-year fixed-term appointment, with a one-year probation and potential for renewal.Active participation in the College's co-curricular and community engagement programs is required.Cover letter addressing the role (2 pages maximum).Personal Education Philosophy (2 pages maximum).Academic Transcripts.Three references.Applications close at 3.30 pm, Friday, 8 November 2024.
