Job DescriptionWe are looking for an innovative and strategic leader to join our newsrooms as the Head of Growth Content for the Metro mastheads, a newly-created key role focused on driving new audience growth.
As the Head of Growth Content, you will take ownership of developing and executing strategies for video, audio and social media to reach new audiences.
Reporting to the Executive Editor, you will work closely with editorial, audience, product and commercial teams to identify growth opportunities, align content strategies with storytelling priorities, and lead a team dedicated to amplifying content across digital platforms.
This is a high-impact, leadership role where your ability to think strategically and execute with precision will be essential to success.
Key Responsibilities:
Expand video and audio reach by developing and executing strategies for growing audiences on video/audio platforms like YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.Identify additional growth opportunities by exploring new platforms.Enhance content amplification by overseeing the development of an updated social media strategy, driving high-impact content distribution to new audiences across social and search channels.Identify and drive content experimentation projects designed to reach new audiences and push the boundaries of content discovery and distribution.Maximise on-platform opportunities to enhance user experience and engagement, including aligning with emerging product capabilities, and adapting vertical video content practices.Lead and mentor a team focused on audience growth and content discovery.Foster collaboration across the newsroom and other departments to meet audience and business objectives.QualificationsWhat we would like to see on your resume:
