Key responsibilities will include: Lead a team of Sanctions specialists to provide advice to Divisions and Group on their Economic and Trade Sanctions (Sanctions) risksSupport Divisional Financial Crime Officers to review and challenge Divisions and Group Financial Crime risk profiles to ensure end to end oversight of Sanctions risks for consistency with Financial Crime Risk AppetiteSupport value chain financial crime risk management by risk review and challenge of:Line 1 Divisions' risk management activities and decisions that may materially affectWestpac's Sanctions risk positionThe effectiveness of Divisions and Group controls, monitoring, compliance and progress towards mitigating Sanctions risksSupport engagement with Australian Sanctions Office on Sanctions related mattersIn conjunction with the country MLROs and Head of Financial Crime, WIB and Group Treasury, monitor interactions and changes from international regulators and support the changes in the business and operational areas responsible for management of Sanctions risksMonitor data governance for Divisions through Financial Crime Data CouncilTrain relevant stakeholders on Sanctions compliance mattersWhat do I need? Previous experience leading a team of Sanctions specialists, providing expert advice on Economic and Trade Sanctions risks to Divisions and Group.Experience in supporting Divisional Financial Crime Officers to review and challenge Financial Crime risk profiles, ensuring comprehensive oversight of Sanctions risks in line with Financial Crime Risk Appetite.Proficiency in risk review and challenge of Line 1 Divisions' risk management activities and decisions, assessing their impact on the organization's Sanctions risk position.Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of Divisions and Group controls, monitoring, compliance, and progress towards mitigating Sanctions risks
