Our client is seeking a Head of Group Financial Planning & Analysis to act as a strategic partner to the CFO, providing support to drive financial performance.
This role will lead a team of FP&A staff and draw on COE resources to ensure the CFO is adequately supported.
The successful candidate will balance resource allocation decisions with protecting financial integrity, delivering quality analysis, and advancing the FP&A functional agenda.
We're ideally looking for a senior professional with strong experience in investment banking, institutional banking or M&A.
What you'll do:
As the Head of Group Financial Planning & Analysis, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing strategic guidance and support to the CFO.
You'll be at the forefront of driving better performance management outcomes through strategic planning and outlook processes.
Your role will also involve leading ad hoc analytical work to support executive-level decision-making.
You'll be responsible for providing information and insights for external communication to investors and regulators on financial performance.
Your ability to engage within various divisions and units will be crucial in supporting strategic planning and outlook development.
* Provide quality decision support to foster better growth, customer service, and productivity outcomes in line with Group strategic goals.
* Drive better performance management outcomes through strategic planning & outlook processes and embed these through clear and consistent financial target settings.
* Identify and lead ad hoc analytical work to support the Executive Committee or the Board deep dive into specific areas of the business.
* Responsible for provision of information and insights for external communication on financial performance, in partnership with Investor Relations.
* Design and chair key financial forums across the leadership team related to financial performance management.
* Engage within the Group, Divisions or BUs to aid with thematic analysis to support strategic planning/outlook development; recommend tangible improvements to profitability; develop the commercial proposition for strategic business initiatives.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Head of Group Financial Planning & Analysis role brings a wealth of financial experience, including work in accounting/finance roles with a CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
You have demonstrated experience in financial control, FP&A, or business partnering roles.
Ideally you have been working in investment banking, institutional banking or M&A environments.
Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively convey results, initiatives, and ideas to senior stakeholders.
Your ability to see the big picture allows you to understand the business, competitive landscape, and economic factors impacting the industry.
You bring proven problem-solving skills and a practical understanding of models and systems & processes.
Lastly, your commercial awareness and interest in business structure and products keep you informed about issues impacting the industry.
* Strong financial experience, having worked in accounting/finance with a CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
* Financial control, FP&A, and/or business partnering experience.
* Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
* Ability to see the big picture-have a broad conceptual understanding of the business, the competitive landscape, and economic factors impacting the industry.
* Analytical - proven problem-solving skills; practical understanding of models and systems & processes.
* Commercially informed - strong interest in business structure and products; desire to keep up-to-date on issues impacting the industry.
