Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJefferies is seeking an experienced, dynamic Finance professional to lead the Australia Finance Team.
The role is based in Sydney, reporting to the Australia Chief Operating Officer and the Asia Corporate Controller.ResponsibilitiesManage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Revenue Recognition.Coordinate legal entity reporting including variance analysis and expense management.Coordinate and review the preparation of regulatory reporting.Respond to internal and external audits and any local statutory inspections.Lead the accounting and financial reporting requirements related to the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP, and research technical accounting issues for GAAP compliance.Manage month-end and year-end close processes.Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.Manage and comply with local statutory reporting requirements and tax returns including GST, Corporate Tax, and FBT.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Additional controller duties as necessary, e.g., ad-hoc projects.QualificationsBachelor's or master's degree(s).Qualified Accountant CPA or equivalent.10-15+ years of related experience.Accounting/Finance experience in Broker dealer/Auditing and control/capital markets/financial services industry experience.Understanding of Financial Products and comfortable liaising with Senior stakeholders in various functions.Demonstrated senior-level management and leadership experience.In-depth understanding of broker dealer, banking, and tax regulations.In-depth understanding of financial and non-financial risk management of financial institutions.About UsJefferies Financial Group Inc.
