They own and manage a significant portfolio of dwellings (supporting nearly 3,000 vulnerable residents) and run a number of community-focused programs such as scholarship grants for education, career development and community greening.
As energetic advocates for funding to help solve homelessness and backed by Government funding (and also increasingly now from the private sector), our client continues to work with those that need it most.The RoleThis recently created Head of Finance position will play a critical role in the recently restructured Finance team.
Although it will have financial and managerial oversight of the day-to-day operations of the finance function, it will play a vital role in setting and guiding the culture of Finance.The role reports to the CFO and sits within a wider finance team of ten.
More specifically the role will:Manage a team of seven including a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant and a Shared Services Team Leader and their team of four.Proactively conduct, monitor and report on financial results against budgets and other analysis as required.Prepare financial analysis showing outcomes and financial implications of management decisions.Proactively engage and collaborate with senior management on all financial and budget management, along with cultivating productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Prepare the monthly CFO Report.Under limited direction, lead and prepare written papers for the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, for final review by the CFO.Assist the CFO in the preparation of Board papers and any other papers to external parties as and when required.Manage the external audit with regular reports on this process to the CFO.Assist the CFO in implementing system changes and other business improvement activities, including finance and accounting policies.Lead the preparation of the annual budget process.In conjunction with the CFO, prepare budgets for Finance, Payroll and Facilities.Manage the performance and development of the Finance team by providing strategic direction, leadership, guidance, and coaching.Your BackgroundThis is a key role within the business as an accounting and cultural leader for the established Finance team.
