Newcastle, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSWFull timeAbout the roleAn opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance to join a well-established and respected organisation, based in Newcastle, NSW. Our client is a true leader within their field and owing to existential growth, they have been able to consolidate their business and transform the team to continue on their current growth path and further. Taking a hands-on approach, this role will lead and take ownership over the day-to-day running of group finance, inclusive of all internal and external reporting as well as managing and mentoring the finance team. As part of the leadership team, you will provide commercial acumen and support to Operations and report into the Chief Executive Officer.The responsibilitiesThe main duties include:Provide strategic guidance to the CEO & leadership team based on comprehensive financial analysis & insights into market trends/opportunities to support the development & execution of the business plan.Develop & execute financial plans aligned with short and longer-term business objectives.Support the annual business planning process & development of company and department budgets.Demonstrate commercial acumen providing the leadership team opportunities to maximise revenue & control expenses.Advise & support the business with execution of mergers/acquisitions.Oversee budgeting, forecasting & financial reporting processes (inc. budgets, balance sheets, P&L & cash flow statements) with a focus on accuracy & timeliness.Lead financial risk management activities to safeguard our assets and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.Prepare & report on statutory compliance matters and manage/maintain all Group insurances.Manage & advise on the Group's liquidity to ensure there is enough working capital to maintain operations, inclusive of all treasury requirements.Develop, implement & review fully compliant Finance-related systems, documents, policies & procedures.Lead the finance team to become a trusted business partner.The successful applicant will haveQualified CPA or CA10 years plus post qualification experience, of which some must be commercialPossess the ability to work in both a hands-on and strategic capacity.A focus on best practice and what that looks likeThe ability to lead and develop finance teamsStrong Systems experienceAbout the clientWell established, our client is a true leader within their field.
