This is a unique opportunity for a passionate educator who excels at leading innovative and future-focused teaching programs while ensuring academic excellence and student success in English and Languages education.The OpportunityAs Head of English and Languages, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team dedicated to fostering excellence in literacy and language development, working collaboratively with staff to deliver high-quality education from Years 7 to 12. You will:Lead the development and implementation of innovative, evidence-based English and Language programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and WACE.Promote excellence in literacy through data analysis of NAPLAN and OLNA results and drive targeted teaching interventions.Mentor and support the Teacher in Charge of Languages to ensure curriculum alignment and integration across both English and Languages programs.Support a dedicated team of teachers to deliver high academic standards, creativity, and critical thinking in their classrooms.Lead literacy development initiatives in collaboration with the Dean of Years (K-2 and Years 3-6), ensuring cohesive literacy support from early years to Senior School.Promote English and Languages extension through competitions, debates, co-curricular activities, and creative writing workshops.Play an active role in the Academic Leadership Team and Senior School's Academic Council, ensuring the alignment of teaching practices with the College's Curriculum Plan.Why Join Tranby College?Be part of a leading independent school with a commitment to academic excellence and student success.Lead a passionate team of educators dedicated to fostering student growth and professional development in both English and Languages.Work in a collaborative and innovative environment that values both creativity and rigorous academic achievement.Enjoy opportunities for professional growth and building partnerships with universities, industry, and community organisations to enhance learning pathways for students.What We're Looking ForWe are seeking an exceptional leader who:Holds a Bachelor's degree in a related field with a graduate qualification in Education or a Bachelor of Education with a relevant major.Has current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).Has proven leadership experience in an independent school setting, with a commitment to excellence in student outcomes.Demonstrates expertise in curriculum development, literacy and language strategies, and data-driven teaching.Is passionate about fostering excellence in English and Languages education and driving innovation in teaching and learning.Has strong communication skills and a commitment to building a culture of respect and service.Teaching Load: 0.8 FTE5-year fixed-term appointment, with a one-year probation and potential for renewal.Active participation in the College's co-curricular and community engagement programs is required.Cover letter addressing the role (2 pages maximum),Personal Education Philosophy (2 pages maximum),Academic Transcripts,Three referencesApplications close at 3.30 pm, Friday, 8 November 2024.The College reserves the right to commence recruitment at any stage.
