At Lyrebird we're looking for a Head of Engineering to join our team.

What you'll doWork hand in hand with the founders, product, and the broader team, providing leadership for the engineering team, set technical direction, ensure alignment with business goals, and build a world-class product loved by our clinicians.Set the culture inside the engineering team, ensuring top quality engineering. You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of our application, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.Be responsible for our technology strategy so that the company is future-proof from an engineering/technical standpoint. You should create the space to ensure this happens and spend time with other engineering leaders to understand what might be required here.Be responsible for the security, uptime, and general developments in developer experience to ensure that Lyrebird, the application, is always available for our clinicians to access and utilize.Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team.Ensure all engineering practices comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and industry best practices for security and data privacy.Implement and refine engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure reliability and efficiency.Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors, partners, and clients.You'll be a great fit if:Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering with 5 years in a leadership role at a tech-enabled high growth company.Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams.Deep understanding of cloud software development methodologies.Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset and a focus on delivering solutions.Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively navigate through ambiguity and complexities.Experience with regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA and ISO27001 is a plus.Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies.Willingness to thrive in a startup environment, highly motivated and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.You enjoy taking a hands-on approach to personal development and coaching: you'll be expected to provide tailored, direct, and earnest feedback to your team in order to develop the skills of your reports.You're deeply passionate about helping healthcare practitioners and delivering an incredible customer experience.If you don't meet every single requirement, but are still interested in the job, please apply.
