Position : Head of Hardware Engineering
Salary:
$150,000 - 200,000 + Super
Location : Gold Coast, QLD, Australia - Commutable from South Brisbane
Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity exists for a seasoned Head of Hardware Engineering to lead and drive a team of engineers in the design and development of innovative hardware solutions. This key leadership position requires deep expertise in RFID technology, Electronics and some mechanical engineering, as well as strong proficiency in Altium. The successful candidate will steer hardware projects from conception to implementation, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers, overseeing all aspects of hardware design, development, and project execution.
Provide technical expertise in RFID, circuit design, and PCB layout, with hands-on work in Altium for precision and quality in designs.
Spearhead the design and conceptualization of hardware solutions, leveraging SolidWorks for 3D modeling and mechanical engineering needs.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including software, product management, and manufacturing—to ensure seamless integration of hardware with other system components.
Develop, track, and manage technical project timelines, budgets, and documentation to achieve on-time, on-budget delivery.
Uphold compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement by integrating new technologies and processes that enhance product quality and development efficiency.
Support team members' growth through skill enhancement, career guidance, and hands-on mentorship.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Over 10 years of hardware engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Advanced expertise in RFID technology and applications.
High proficiency in SolidWorks and Altium, with hands-on experience in hardware prototyping and design.
Proven experience in leading and inspiring a team of engineers to achieve project goals.
Strong project management skills, demonstrating a successful history of delivering complex hardware projects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in the consumer electronics industry.
Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management practices.
Experience working with international teams and vendors.
