We get a large amount of repeat or referral business that sees us place emphasis on the design process early with our clients, working with them to provide our expertise and plan the job effectively. This delivers high quality outcomes for all involved, challenges commercial opportunities, and helps set our jobs up for success. Reporting to the Head of Construction, this role will be pivotal in ensuring that our team of more than 20 design professionals continue to provide this service to the business, our clients, and ongoingly to all our projects. Inspirational leadership with large teams, legendary relationship management, and sound construction technical expertise will all be key for this role.This role will see you:Leading, mentoring and providing strategic direction to all Senior Design Managers, to create outcomes with their Design Managers, Coordinators and Cadets.Regularly communicating with the broader McNab team and businesses to ensure alignment, connection and strategic outcomes - particularly with construction, to develop and understand the front end of the business.Directly managing relationships with key stakeholder groups including internal stakeholders, designers, contractors, consultants, and approval authorities to achieve required business outcomes, and in a manner that enhances the image and reputation of McNab and delivers on expectations.Using your expertise, support the design team and project teams through project design and construction issues, including assessing risk, value engineering to create opportunity, assessing and recommending consultants, and ensuring contractual obligations are in line with requirementsEnsuring that the design team is adequately resourced and planned, and that effective mentorship and development is occurring to continually challenge and grow the team.
